Relationship between Big Five personality traits and knowledge sharing behaviour: moderating role of Islamic work ethics

Purpose The existence of intense competition in turbulent markets confirms the importance using ethical employee practices knowledge sharing behaviour (KSB) to ensure organisational growth. This is especially applicable developing countries' where this intensive usually results organisations following illicit practices. paper aims examine relationship between Big Five personality traits (i.e. openness experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism) KSB Islamic work ethics (IWE) as moderator. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative research method a survey instrument collected 182 responses from employees Pakistani telecommunication industry. partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used analyse data. Findings found that IWE has positive impact on moderating except neuroticism KSB. Also, experience agreeableness positively impacted Practical implications contributes field human resource (HR) management by helping managers hiring process or employee's personalities. Additionally, policymakers are encouraged create values platforms increase amongst employees. Originality/value study indicates boosting provides insights into IWE's role enhancing an organisation's competitive advantages markets.
